JORGE LUIS PACHECO & JOSÉ JAMES

JORGE LUIS PACHECO
Jorge Luis Pacheco – piano, Yorgis Goiricelaya – bass, Ramses Rodriguez – drums

Jorge Luis Pacheco is one of the leading Cuban jazz pianists of the new generation, to whom music critics have already attributed a unique playing style and "flying hands", as well as the status of a real showman. He is a vocalist, percussionist, composer and musical director, who has already worked with many groups of musicians in Cuba, the USA and other countries. Pacheco's musical scope is wide.

“Pacheco is truly a piano phenomenon, a continuation of the tradition of Chucho Valdés, but more importantly, a pianist with his own identity…” – Arturo O’Farrell

JOSÉ JAMES
José James – voice, guitar, Chad Selph – keyboards, Marcus Machado – guitar, David Ginyard – bass, Jharis Yokley – drums

Known as the jazz singer of the hip-hop generation, José has been considered one of the most progressive soul music artists. On his twelfth studio album 1978, James continues to move forward in modern soul style, combining a deep love for jazz and hip-hop with excellent songwriting and production skills. The songs from the new album will most directly appeal to fans of the works of such soul music artists as Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Prince, but the album does not lack modern R'n'B moods, helped to create by the line-up of young all-stars who will also perform at the festival together with José.

“Catch up with José James now because he's a rarity – an artist evolving at warp speed.” – NPR Music
