"White Night" has become a popular and integral cultural event in Riga, which takes place in early September of each year. This year's forum will be held for the tenth time, on Saturday night from 5 to 6 September. The forum will include 20 approved basic projects that will be carried out by local art and cultural life organisers, as well as international artists. The event programme will be concentrated in the city centre, Riga Old Town, Spīķeri and the nearby Pardaugava.
The programme of" White Night" this year is inspired by the theme of Light. The substantive theme was chosen in support of the Year of Light and Light-based Technologies announced by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
