The 7th Riga International Triennial of Textile and Fibre Art is a major international cultural event that attracts participants not only from Latvia and other European countries, but also from Canada, USA, Japan, Brazil, Costa Rica, South Africa, Taiwan, etc. The Triennial brings together 79 artists from 30 countries, selected by an international jury from 237 applications.
Echoing the Triennial's motto QUO VADIS? (Where Are We Going?), the artists' works negotiate the evolution of art and industry today, as well as global geopolitical and social issues, reflecting on themselves in a given time and space. The artists have highlighted current issues - the brutal war in Ukraine, the pandemic and its consequences, global climate change - and other sensitive and painful issues for society.
