Art Museum RIGA BOURSE
Palazzo Madama: Arts and Crafts in Italy, 6th–19th Century
The Art Museum RIGA BOURSE presents a unique opportunity to explore more than one hundred works from the collection of the Museum of Ancient Art at Palazzo Madama in Turin. This exhibition offers a remarkable insight into the history of Italian applied and decorative arts, spanning nearly fifteen centuries of craftsmanship and tradition.
The celebrated elegance of Italian style is the result of centuries of evolving ideas and techniques in every aspect of the applied and decorative arts. The exhibition brings together masterpieces from workshops and manufactories across Italy: world-renowned Murano glass, Venetian enamels and Doge document covers, Renaissance bronzes and cameos, Lombard metalwork, Tuscan majolica, Neapolitan porcelain, exquisite textiles and lace, Piedmontese furniture, and intricate carvings in wood, coral, and ivory—among many other highlights of Italian craftsmanship.
