Contemporary Dance Festival HOROS

July 30, Thursday 2026 - July 31, Friday 2026 18.30
Over two summer evenings – 30 and 31 July – the contemporary dance festival HOROS will take place at the cultural venue Hanzas Perons in Riga. Audiences will have the opportunity to experience four empathetically provocative performances by local and international artists.

Vērpete (Vortex) Erik Eriksson (Sweden), Krišjānis Sants (Latvia)

Clap & Slap, Agniete Lisičkinaite (Lithuania), Igor Shugaleev (Belarus,Poland)

Knoster Erik Eriksson (Sweden)

Lasting Figures Salka Ardal Rosengren (Sweden)

HOROS 2026 will focus on the in-between states of contemporary human experience in times of geopolitical instability – as we do not live in war, but neither do we live in peace anymore. This fragile coexistence is marked by constant tension, an overload of information, and emotional experiences that cannot always be put into words.

The festival invites audiences to experience and recognise this tension through the body – through movement, rhythm, repetition, and dance – helping us to anchor ourselves in the present. This year’s festival theme is “Amongst people. What lingers.””

Festival passes are available for all performances, as well as passes for the performances on 30 July or 31 July only. Tickets can also be purchased for each performance separately.
