What is the Carnival of the Art Academy of Latvia?
It is an annual event organized by the students of AAL. There one can enjoy a wide range of different music genres on the live stage as well as happenings. It is an event where one can unleash their inner artistic spirit.
Theme
This year’s theme is inspired by the myth of an Igor – a mythical person in AAL who represents artists altogether. Igor symbolizes every artist’s eternal energy, relentless inspiration and most importantly – an artist’s love for his art and living. Therefore, this year, we invite you to show off and be proud of what gives you the inspiration to create!
What to expect?
17 different music bands and five performance artists on six main music stages as well as three dance and performance stages. The artists will be both Latvian and foreign – Lithuania will be represented by Electra and Estonia by Ave Maria. The audience will also be entertained by the Argentinian circus artist Cronopio and an unusual drag show.
Special attention will be paid to the student stage, with performances by KoBra and the multi-artist Ciskudrāzējs. Other performances are expected from well-known Latvian artists such as Elīza Daine, Evija Vēbere, Mattenergy, Edavārdi, Aleja, Athordi Brīnumzemē, Inokentijs Mārpls and others.
For the second year in a row The Riga International Film Festival 2ANNAS will return to the AAL Carnival.
Tickets for the carnival can be purchased by LMA students, alumni and their friends at the art shop "Vilhelms" (K. Valdemāra iela 9).
AAL students, lecturers and employees - 25 EUR (with student or employee ID)
Students of other universities (with ID), LMA alumni (with diploma) and friends of LMA students (tickets must be purchased together with an LMA student who presents a student ID) - EUR 40
Culture lovers (other interested parties) - EUR 50 (also available on lolo.id.)

At the 31th of January at 19:30 Art Academy of Latvia invites you to contemplate about true artists spirit at The Benjamin House (Krišjāņa Barona iela 12). Throughout the night there will be various creative events – poetry readings, performances and DJing, with the participation of well-known personalities from the Art Academy of Latvia.
