Ethnographic Open-Air Museum (Etnografiskais Brivdabas muzejs)
Authentic 16th to 19th century Latvian
houses, farmsteads, windmills and
fishermen’s villages. Situated in a vast
pine forest by lake Jugla, it occupies
an area of about a 100 hectares. On
weekends you can watch traditional
craftsmen at work, such as a
blacksmith and a woodcarver. The
museum even has its own bee-farm
and you can taste fresh honey served
with country bread.
