After the success of their Mārupe location, so many guests flocked in that Zanazan had to open a second branch in the city center — and we’re so glad they did. This Georgian restaurant, owned and operated by a warm-hearted family from the Caucasus, brings true hospitality and generations of family recipes to Riga. All the staff come from the Caucasus too, proudly cooking their traditional food with heart and skill. Expect generous portions, handmade khinkali, perfectly baked khachapuri, and aromatic coal-grilled dishes — juicy kebabs, rich stews, and the beloved vegetarian lobio bean stew. The space is both ethno and elegant, creamy in tone and cozy in spirit. An open kitchen and a glowing grill fill the air with irresistible aromas. Don’t skip the homemade cakes that taste just like they came from a Georgian grandmother’s kitchen. It’s the kind of place where laughter, wine, and friendship come easily — a hip, hearty spot for big company gatherings and niche Georgian wines.
