Tartuffe

Moliere's brilliant comedy "Tartuffe" is called a play for all times, and this is not an exaggeration: written in 1664, it is still successfully performed in theaters around the world and has already been filmed eight times. This elegant, light, funny and at the same time deep, intelligent and apt text has still not lost either its charm or relevance - not least because the author managed to create timeless characters and situations.

...A certain Tartuffe has settled in the house of the venerable Mr Orgon, and that Tartuffe is a holy man, according to the owner and his mother's opinion. The rest of the household do not agree with this assessment, but all attempts to dissuade Orgon are not only futile, but also cause him to feel righteous anger as well as strengthen his confidence in the evil intentions of his wife, children and servants. Meanwhile, the guest establishes his own order in the house, and Orgon only nods his head... and prepares to marry his daughter to Tartuffe, although she has long been promised to another man. Neither the girl, nor her real fiancé, nor her brother, nor... In fact, almost no one agrees with this plan, so the audiences can expect intrigues, conspiracies and a real fight - for money and feelings.

In this production, staging director Sergey Golomazov intends to explore the timeless nature of human ignorance, which is as comical as it is dangerous. Fortunately, common sense and love will prevail in this story!
