The Congress will open on 21 August in the historic Riga Circus, where the presentation “Illusionists in the History of Riga Circus 1888–1916” will reveal fascinating stories about magicians who once performed in the Riga Circus. Adding brilliance to the event will be the multimedia performance “Dreamers”, featuring world-class acts by artists from Latvia and abroad.
From 22 to 23 August, the “Mystero” Theatre will host lectures by international representatives of the art of illusion, historians, and researchers.
On 23 August, the new autumn season of the “Splendid Palace” cinema will open with Magic in Film. The opening screening will showcase how the art of magic has been portrayed on the big screen, with a highlight being the screening of the historic Harry Houdini film Terror Island, accompanied by live piano music performed by pianist Rihards Plešanovs.
In the magnificent lobby of “Splendid Palace,” an exhibition of Martin Mystère comic illustrations featuring illusionist Harry Houdini will be unveiled, created by the Italian publishing house Sergio Bonelli Editore. The exhibition will be open from 19 to 29 August, free of charge, during the cinema’s opening hours.
Another highlight of the Congress programme will be the show “Secrets of the History of Illusion” by world-famous Italian illusionist Aurelio Paviato at the “Mystero” Theatre, where historical tricks will come to life in a modern interpretation.
A unique event will be the exhibition “Mystery and Illusion in Latvia, 17th–20th Centuries” at the University of Latvia Library (Rūpniecības Street 10) from 12 August to 12 September, offering a captivating journey through the history of magic.
The Congress will also feature the premiere of director Freddie Rutz’s documentary film “3 Books – The Stories of Gunther Dammann” on 24 August at the “Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga.”

Different venues
Kongresa atklāšana notiks vēsturiskajā Rīgas cirkā 21. augustā, kur prezentācijas formātā “Iluzionisti Rīgas cirka vēsturē 1888–1916” tiks atklāti aizraujoši stāsti par burvju māksliniekiem kas savulaik uzstājušies Rīgas cirkā (L.Lipinskas prezentācija). Pasākumam spožumu piešķirs multimediāla performance “Sapņotāji”, kurā ar pārsteidzošiem pasaules līmeņa priekšnesumiem uzstāsies Latvijas un ārvalstu mākslinieki.
No 22. līdz 23. augustam “Mystero” teātrī norisināsies starptautisku iluzionisma mākslas pārstāvju, vēsturnieku un pētnieku lekcijas. Savukārt 23. augustā kinoteātra “Splendid Palace” jaunā rudens sezona tiks atklāta tieši ar Burvju mākslu kino. Sezonas atklāšanas seanss ļaus piedzīvot, kā maģijas māksla atainota uz lielajiem ekrāniem, un izcils notikums būs vēsturiskās Harija Hudīni filmas “Terror Island” (“Baisā sala”) demonstrācija dzīvās klavierspēles pavadījumā. Pavadījumu izpildīs pianists Rihards Plešanovs. “Splendid Palace” krāšņajā vestibilā tiks atklāta komiksa “Martin Mistere” ilustrāciju izstāde par iluzionistu Hariju Hudīni, ko veidojusi Itālijas izdevniecība Sergio Bonelli Editore. Izstāde būs atvērta no 19. augusta līdz 29. augustam un pieejama ikvienam interesentam bez maksas kinoteātra darba laikā.
Kongresa programmā ir vēl viens kulminācijas brīdis - pasaulslavenā itāļu iluzionista Aurelio Paviato izrāde “Iluzionisma vēstures noslēpumi” “Mystero” teātrī, kurā vēsturiskie triki atdzīvosies mūsdienu interpretācijā.
Unikāls pasākums ir izstāde – aizraujošs ceļojums cauri maģijas vēsturei “Mistērija un Ilūzija Latvijā 17.-20.gs“ LU bibliotēkā (Rūpniecības ielā 10) no 12. augusta līdz 12. septembrim.
Režisora Freddie Rutz dokumentālās filmas “3 grāmatas – Gunther Dammann stāsti” pirmizrāde 24. augustā viesnīcā “Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga” kongresa ietvaros.
