Founded in 1988, Stockholm Chamber Brass (SCB) quickly gained international recognition, securing first place at the International Brass Competition in Narbonne, France. Over the past 35 years, the quintet has risen to prominence as one of the world’s leading brass ensembles, commissioning more than 50 new works from renowned composers such as Anders Hillborg and Andrea Tarrodi.
Their internationally acclaimed recordings, including Clockworks (1995) and Then (2013), reflect SCB's innovative repertoire. The prestigious American Record Guide praised Clockworks, stating, "We cannot imagine a better brass quintet."
Stockholm Chamber Brass performs at major global festivals and has been leading its own academy, the Stockholm Chamber Brass Academy, since 2016, blending chamber music traditions with a modern musical sound.
In the first half of the concert, Stockholm Chamber Brass will perform a carefully curated program of original chamber music by M. Arnold, A. Hillborg, and suites from Monteverdi’s operas arranged by U. Agnas. In the second half, they will join Orchestra Rīga to present Dana Wilson’s Quintessence and Mats Larsson Gothe’s Clockworks.
