LATVIAN LOVE SONGS (LATVIEŠU MĪLAS DZIESMAS)

In the spirit of Valentine's Day, on February 15 at VEF Culture Palace, Orchestra RIGA organizes a concert LATVIAN LOVE SONGS (LATVIEŠU MĪLAS DZIESMAS). The most beautiful Latvian love songs will be sung by the charming vocalists - Aija Vītoliņa and an actor Raimonds Celms. Artistic director and conductor of the concert - Valdis Butāns. Raimonds Celms will also take on the role of moderator of the concert, giving the concert listeners something more momentary and poetic.
The symbolic motif of this concert is the magnificent seasons of Latvia, which will weave through the love songs included in the concert program and will also symbolize the cycle of love and changes in the life stories of different generations.
The first part of the concert will be played in the mood of retro music, remembering the great masters of popular music of the last century - Elga Igenberga, Ringolds Ore, Alfrēds Vinters, Edmunds Goldšteins. Love will be reflected through the symbols of nature in the sincere and joyful songs “By the lake”, “Sniegpulkstenītis”, “Spring song” and others.
The second part of the concert includes music by Latvian composers from today. Maestro Raimonds Pauls songs “Over the river”, “You are a path”, Imants Kalniņš poetic “Meadows already decorated with flowers” and “Quietly”, Uldis Marhilēvičs, “Lūgums”, and music by Valts Pūce, Mārtiņš Brauns and Jēkabs Jančevskis will be played.
