Ademir Junior (Brazil) , Tiago Loei (Brazil) and Latvian Radio Big Band
"Brazilian musicians Ademir Junior (saxophone), Tiago Loei (percussion) and the Latvian Radio Big Band will share the same stage at the Saxophonia Festival.
Ademir Junior is a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, composer, who is considered to be the most active and best known improvising saxophonist in Brazil and South America. Ademir is a self-taught saxophonist and has worked as a soloist with Chris Potter, John Patitucci, Bob Mintzer, Paquito D'Rivera and many others. He is the first Brazilian jazz saxophonist to become an artist of the famous saxophone brand "Selmer".
Tiago Loei is a Brazilian percussionist who has been actively performing and recording for various bands throughout Brazil since the age of 16, and later lived in Havana, Cuba, where he furthered his knowledge and studied the famous rhythms of Cuban music. Tiago Loei has spent several years in Riga and as a percussionist has regularly collaborated with popular and outstanding musicians in Latvia - Raimonds Pauls, Intars Busulis, Karlis Vanags and many others, so this Saxophonia concert will also be Tiago's return to the place he has long called home.
The concert will feature original compositions by Ademir Junior, as well as Brazilian music and world jazz classics.
