Nargiz Zakirova was born in 1970 in Tashkent. She grew up in a musical family. Her grandfather was a founder of Uzbek's opera and her grandmother, along with her mother were singers. At the age of 4 Nargiz debuted with her uncle on stage, which she has not left eversince. By the age of 15 she recorded a couple of songs for the movie "Bride of Vuadi"(Nevesta iz Vuadilya"), and with one of them she performed at a "Yurmala-86" competition, winning a viewers ' choice award. She could not win the competition due to her young age. However, later on she began actively performing on stage. Nargiz finished 51st school in Tashkent and later went through vocal training in the Republican Circus College.
In 1995, Nargiz has immigrated to the United States with her family. In 2001 she recorded an album called "Golden Cage" ("Zolotaya kletkа"). She sang in numerous bands but at the moment Nargiz performs as a solo artist, having a very distinctive type of voice.
In 2013 Nargiz went through 3 stages of auditions for the American X Factor. But at the very last moment she changed her mind though, and decided to participate in the Russian " The Voice" show. In the end, it turned out to be the right decision. Nargiz captured the hearts of the audience with her version of the song "Still loving you" by Scorpions. She gained worldwide attention as well. Even Rudolf Shenker, the founder of the Scorpions, was blown away by Nargiz.
On the 20th of December, 2013 Nargiz went up to the final of "The Voice" and came 2nd. After this project she became very popular. The singer says "I didn't win. I've succeeded." Nargiz is rightfully considered the queen of "The Voice," being the most vibrant contestant. The audience was captivated by this extravagant singer and many people became her fans.
Nowaday Nargiz is married to Phillip Balzano, an Italian singer and has three adorable children- two daughters, Sabina and Leila, and a son, Auel.
Recently, Nargiz signed a contract with Maxim Fadeev, a popular producer. Currently, she is busy with touring and promotions of her new song "I'm not yours" ("Ya ne tvoya), which is written by her producer .
