Survival Kit International Contemporary Art Festival is one of the most ambitious contemporary art events in the Baltics, taking place annually in Riga. The festival was created in 2009 as a response to the global economic crisis, inviting people to reflect on different survival strategies in today's changing world. Each year, the festival chooses a theme that is topical and relevant to society. Riga's empty buildings are often used as venues to draw attention to their future development potential.
