The organizers of Riga Fashion Week have unveiled the image of the upcoming autumn RIGA FASHION WEEK, which will take place in the second half of October. This season, digital avatars have been replaced by a live model, presented in an extravagant look.
The style was created by renowned Latvian stylist and fashion expert Sergey Hatanzeysky.
“After several seasons, I was delighted to return to creating looks for RIGA FASHION WEEK with an entirely new team for me. Our goal was to create a fresh, bold, and at times provocative image that literally comes to life in the frame — the dynamics of the shoot can be felt in every movement, with the hair flying upwards, emphasizing the energy and character of the look.
For the shoot, we chose a model from Moon Models agency — Valerija Locmele — an entirely new face and a true rising star in the fashion world, who perfectly conveys the mood and daring spirit of the image.
A special role in the project was played by pieces from Tribal Hotel — bold, relevant, and unusual, they helped to create a bright, dynamic, and memorable image for the upcoming fashion week.”
The conceptual foundation of the look was inspired by the interaction of light and concrete in the works of sculptor Rachel Whiteread. “During the design process, I wanted to combine contrasts: cool, silky-blue tones paired with deep burgundy lacquer create a tension that symbolizes the inner dynamics of the new season,” comments Simona Veilande, designer of the Tribal Hotel brand.
This expressive image is a visual manifesto, demonstrating courage, energy, and calling on us not to fear contrasts but to open a new page at the upcoming RFW.
“The final photo frame, in my opinion, embodies a certain lightness and energy. The look seems to ‘shout’ that style is when you can choose and set the trends yourself, rather than blindly following dictated ones,” adds image photographer Dmitrijs Pomerantsev.
The team also included makeup artist Santa Rundzane and post-production specialist Julija Grafeeva.
