Tarja Turunen and Marco Hietala in Latvia!
The artists known for Nightwish will perform at Riga Palladium on 25 February!
Symphonic rock's brightest star, Tarja Turunen, is the best-known voice in the Finnish music world. The co-creator of Nightwish enchanted the world with her soprano, and the combination of metal and those vocals created a new genre at the turn of the century that inspired many other musicians. In 2006, Tarja launched her solo career, a path she continues to follow to this day. In almost 20 years, she has released 9 solo albums, combining both classical and rock styles.
Marco Hietala spent 2 decades in Nightwish and parted ways with the band in 2021. During this time, the bassist and vocalist was an important part of Tarot (with a small break), and he also worked with artists such as Delain and Amorphis before deciding to focus on a solo career. The result? The album "Pyre of Black Heart", the Finnish version of which was released in 2019, and the English version a year later. Marko continues his musical journey, and this is perfectly demonstrated by the song "Left on Mars", recorded together with Tarju and released in mid-March. We will definitely hear this song at the Riga concert, as well as the duo's renditions of Nightwish repertoire!
