GZA & The Phunky Nomads

GZA, one of the members of Wu-Tang Clan, will perform at Palladium Riga

The genius GZA, the most famous member of the Wu-Tang Clan and its founder, together with The Phunky Nomads will perform at the Palladium Riga concert hall next spring, on March 4. Tickets are available from today at Biļešu Serviss.

GZA, also known as Genius, and member of the legendary hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan. Wu-Tang Clan, which included RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and until his death in 2004, Ol' Dirty Bastard and Cappadonna, became one of the most influential and successful collectives in rap music history.

GZA released his solo debut album "Words from the Genius" in 1991. In 1995, he released his album "Liquid Swords", which is considered a hip-hop masterpiece worldwide and ranked among the Top 100 best albums in history. The platinum-certified album has become a hip-hop classic. His 1999 album "Beneath the Surface" reached #1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. He has also participated in the solo projects of his fellow Wu-Tang members and has managed to maintain a successful solo career to this day.

GZA is considered one of the best MCs and lyricists with strong metaphors and smooth flow, as well as an excellent lyrical style that often rejects typical rap story lines in favour of science and broad philosophies. An analysis of GZA's lyrics reveals that he has the second largest vocabulary in hip-hop music. GZA collaborated with an educational group to promote science education in New York City through hip-hop.
