“Chopin’s music is very truthful. Just as a compass always points to true north, Chopin’s music has consistently resonated within me, creating a kind of frequency of the soul,” says pianist Edgars Tomševics in describing Chopin’s work.
He has created this concert programme together with cellist Dace Zālīte-Zilberte and two vocal soloists – soprano Brigita Reisone and tenor Mihails Čuļpajevs.
The first part of the concert features Chopin’s Sonata for Cello and Piano in G minor (premiered at the composer’s last public concert in Paris) and Barcarolle, Op. 60. This will serve as a bridge to the second, more lyrical part of the concert, dedicated to Chopin’s solo piano compositions.
