A documentary film produced by the Latvian Ballet and Dance Guild and HansaMedia Ltd. about the personality of the outstanding dancer, choreographer, and teacher Helēna Tangijeva-Birzniece, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth, which was on April 13, 2007. The film opens a documentary series on the history of Latvian ballet.

Anna Priede was the idol of Latvian ballet for more than 20 years. She was known as “the divine Anna”. The public came not to see the ballet, but to see her. The sensitivity that made Priede so special on stage proved very painful after she was forced to leave the stage. The film is based on Anna Priede’s autobiography and her letters. Anna Priede’s story of herself is complemented by the memories of her contemporaries, colleagues and daughters.
The film “With Warm Greetings... Anna Augustovna” is the second film in the documentary series about the history of Latvian ballet. The projects were realized by Jura Podnieks Studio and Latvian Ballet and Dance Guild.
