Georgian State Choreographic Ensemble BATUMI

The Choreographic Ensemble "Batumi" was established in 1990, and it gathered professional Georgian folk dance performers. The ensemble was led by the artistic director and main choreographer — well-known choreographer and producer of many Georgian dances, Georgian national artist Enver Khabadze, and later on the ensemble acquired his name and was awarded the national level status. The choreographic ensemble "Batumi" quickly gained the reputation of a top level professional creative group and, on multiple occasions, has become the laureate of various international competitions and festivals. Since its establishment, the ensemble has performed on many stages around the world, including guest performances in Bulgaria, Turkey, Denmark, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Egypt, Belgium, Germany, China among others.
Today, the creative development of the ensemble is entrusted with the prominent cultural worker of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, the Honorary Freeman, the holder of the Honorary Order, Teimuraz Bolkvadze, head choreographer of the ensemble is holder of the Honorary Order Shalva Goguadze, whereas the coaching choreographers are distinguished artists of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Nugzar Mikadze and Miranda Bagdadishvili.

The leading dancers of the ensemble are the prominent performers of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara: Ketevan Bolkvadze, Eldar Mzhavia, Kakhaber Gogotishvili, Amiran Makharadze, Anzor Kakhidze among others. The band of the ensemble "Batumi" led by the merited cultural worker of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Enver Gogoberidze has become very popular. The stands out with its remarkable professional quality and the masterful performance.
