Ian Kelly, the author of Casanova’s biography and the ballet’s libretto, describes him as follows: “[Casanova’s] vast appetite for life and bravery in living it acts as a charm and a challenge to those who come to know him.” Casanova strives to delve into the mind and heart of this legendary lover, while also opening a window to a fascinating age.
Staged by the British ballet company, Northern Ballet, Casanova saw its opening night in March 2017. Created by choreographer Kenneth Tindall, composer Kerry Muzzey, set and costume designer Christopher Oram, this production offers us an incredible opportunity to discover the magnificent and breathtaking world of the 18th century.
