The Daile Theatre was opened on 19 November 1920 with a performance of "Indulis and Ārija" by Rainis in the premises of the Craftsmen Assistance Society at Lāčplēša (then - Romanova) Street 25, the former abode of the New Rīga Theatre closed several years ago.
