An evening of rarities. According to the musicians, the trio is steadfast in its commitment to the idea of performing some of the greatest piano trio classics. This time, it is an impressive work by Schubert which resonates with the lines from Music, the final part of Shostakovich’s vocal-instrumental suite: “At night, when all that is restless falls asleep and the city is foggy, oh, what music comes from God, what sound is born on Earth.” In addition, Ivanovs’s Piano Trio depicts sorrowful paths, the image of Jāzeps Vītols, and reality itself.
