Jolanta Strikaite-Lapiņa, soprano
Singer Jolanta Strikaite has studied vocal art at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music (Classes of A. Garanča, K. Gailīte, A. Goba). Her repertoire and field of activity are wide - baroque, romantic music, opuses by contemporary composers, musicals, voice recordings of Disney heroes, as well as a role in a dramatic theatre play. Her first opera roles are related to the activity of opera studio Figaro: Lolita (Kalniņš “Lolitas Brīnumputns”), Leonora (Hindemits), main role in the opera Maria Egiziaca (nominated for the Grand Music Award 2013).

As a soloist she has participated in vocal symphonic music performances with leading Latvian orchestras (LNSO, LSO, Orchestra Riga) and choirs (The State Choir Latvija, Radio choir, Ave sol) - Carmina Burana (Orff), Ikon of Eros (Tavener), Requiem (Mozart), St John Passion (Bach), The Poet's Love (Kalniņš).

In the Latvian National Opera Jolanta sings Adele (Die Fledermaus), Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro) and Pamina (The Little Magic Flute with Mozart's music). Her roles in the productions of the renewed Latvian Operetta Fund are Valensienne in Die Lustige Witwe (Lehár) and Staci in Die Csárdásfürstin (Kálmán).

The singer also focuses on contemporary music (O. Leith's opera Unknown Unknown, 2018) and music by Latvian composers; she often participates in contemporary music performances and chamber music programmes. Many composers have written specifically for her voice - Kārlis Lācis (symphony "Crucifixion", solo songs), Jēkabs Nīmanis (oratory "Pārdaugava's Water Tower", play "Persian Language Classes"). In collaboration with the organist Kristīne Adamaite and saxophonist Artis Sīmanis, she has performed premieres of the opuses of contemporary Latvian composers, recorded on the "Līdzenuma balss" album.
