Riga Circus presents: Fauna

INTERNATIONALLY AWARDED CIRCUS SHOW “FAUNA”
RIGA CONGRESS HALL
DECEMBER 28th

On December 28 the internationally acclaimed artists will take on the roles of different animals and explore the contrasts and differences between humanistic and animal worlds through exquisite acrobatic skills. This show will be the final event of the 130th anniversary year of Riga Circus. FAUNA has been a collaboration in the purest sense. Six unique performers, six contrasting artistic inputs, six differing points of view, all working together to produce one single, coherent, definitive, yet abstract physical world. A world where it’s characters can live in harmony and explore their own individual physical characteristics and attributes. The show itself is a captivating exploration of primal behaviour: the ritual of courtship, the aggression of competition, the Machiavellian cunning and the simple pleasure of play is brought to life through the entrancing skill of these creatures from different circus backgrounds.

The company began in 2016 and was instantly offered a British Arts Council grant to develop and present a show at the Glastonbury Festival of Performing Arts. This led to offers of residencies for further development and performance opportunities around the world, however, we decided to use the Adelaide Fringe Festival as the world premier of our full length show of the same name, receiving 5 star reviews and winning Best Emerging Artist and a Best Circus and Physical Theatre weekly award.

Length of the show: 60 min.
The show is appropriate for all the ages.
