Fink

British Folk-Rock, Blues and Indie band “Fink” will perform in Riga on Friday, 29th of September in concert hall Palladium. The trio will visit Latvia during a support tour of their upcoming brand new album to be rolling out in spring.

“Fink” has released 7 albums until now, of which commercially most succesfull have been “Perfect Darkness” (2011) and “Hard Believer” (2014). The best known hits are Looking Too Closely, This Is The Thing, Perfect Darkness, Sort Of Revolution, Yesterday Was Hard On All Of Us.

The band is lead by the frontman, composer, guitarist, DJ and producer Fin Greenall. Born in Cornwall, grown up in Bristol, he can recall that there was only one thing in his otherwise very democratic family home that he wasn’t allowed to touch and it was his father’s acoustic guitar. As it is known, the forbidden fruit is the most desired and likely this fact determined his interest in music. While studying English history and literature in University of Leeds, he is enamored with different genres of music from The Smith, The Orb and The Cure to the Japanese hardcore.

After graduating the university in 90’s Greenall actively works with music of different genres by producing and mixing it for various London based labels and also Dj-ing. By the time of Millenium he decides that it’s time to express himself individually with a stage name Fink and releases his debut album Fresh Produce, which is withheld in electronic and acid-jazz styles. It took 6 years until second album Buisquits for Breakfast (2006), during which Greenall decides to change the music style completely, focusing on guitar and together with mates Guy Whittaker and Tim Thornton they create the band called Fink.

In 2012 Fink performs together with Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of the Netherlands, later this performance is released as concert album version Fink Meets The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. We would like to remind that the conductor of Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra from 2004 until 2015 was our compatriot Mariss Jansons. And Andris Nelsons also has been invited to conduct this orchestra.

Parallel to his work in trio Fin Greenall continues to collaborate with a number of artists as a producer and composer. He has worked with John Legend, Banks, Professor Green and many others. Greenall is co-author of the song Half Time by Amy Winehouse, which appears on her posthumous records collection.
