Viva the keyboard! or eulogy for keyboard music and its virtuosos – Estonian harpsichord master Reinut Tepp, philosophical Georgy Osokin, and Andrius Zhlabys, an artist performing on the most prestigious stages in the world. Baroque harpsichord and 20th century will intertwine in the music by Henryk Górecki; and Avi Avital, the world-famous mandolin master will excite in the concerto for mandolin by the gifted British symphony composer Anna Clyne. The new Latvian sound magician, and the audience-favourite composer Jēkabs Jančevskis will take the listeners to a mysterious conversation with trees in Lignum, a piece specially created for Kremerata. The concert will end with Music for percussion, strings and piano – the most brilliant masterpiece of the Latvian music by the recently-passed Pēteris Plakidis, composed in his days of youth, however bringing surprise in 2017 even with its magnificence, diversity of characters and contemporary tensity.
