Performers: Elīna Šimkus (soprano), Kalvis Kalniņš (baritone), Džeraldas Bidva (violin), Georgy Osokin (piano), Andrius Žlabys (piano), Pēteris Trasuns (viola), Jānis Porietis (trumpet), Kremerata Baltica chamber orchestra. Programme: Georgs Pelēcis
Georgs Pelēcis is one of the authors to have cultivated a long and creatively-filled friendship with Gidon Kremer and Kremerata Baltica. Childhood, years spent studying together in Riga and Moscow, pieces specially composed for Kremerata, records and performances abroad – it is a beautiful art cooperation story of a composer and his interpreter that we can witness in this anniversary concert. Creative work by Georgs Pelēcis is charming with its warm, calm joy, democratic language, lightness marked with child-like naivety and mature wisdom. Among pieces specially composed for Mr Kremer, the concert will also include a new work – Onegin's counterpoints with lyrics by Pushkin, featuring letters by Tatiana and Onegin, lightly charged with purity, candour and romance, not to mention suffering, prayers and desperation.
